The Luna Ring's mission is to help you become your best self and that can not be complete unless we focus specifically on menstrual health as well. A focus that typically gets missed when building a uni-sex health platform.
Only 3% of medical research globally is on women. In a survey done by us with over 1190 women - 82% women understand they have issues but less than 7% of them said they were ever taught about these issues (education is missing globally which results in lack of correct information). 26.3% find it very embarrassing to talk about menstrual issues with their family. A whopping 68.1% of women feel men in their lives have no idea about this condition. 71% women feel discussing menstruation feels like a taboo at college or office. 35% of women who are obese have pcos as an underlying concern, a common insight missed by health trackers.
At Luna, we are committing to change this and create a wellness ecosystem
that is inclusive and responsive to the unique health needs of women. Over
the past few months, we have dedicated a focused effort to understanding how
Luna can better understand menstrual health. These advanced functionalities
are designed to provide comprehensive menstrual health insights and
predictions - tailored to meet the needs of women with varying menstrual
patterns, including those with irregular periods, women planning pregnancy,
and those seeking to avoid pregnancy.
Key Features launched this week include:
1) Period and Symptom Tracker - Users can log your periods, older periods
and various symptoms associated with their menstrual cycle. Users can also
log period flow intensity- to help our models understand your menstrual
health better.
2) Smart Period Predictions - Using user patterns, basal temperatures, SPO2
and other bio-markers - Luna offers smarter predictions about Fertile Days
and Upcoming Periods. With usage, Luna predictions adapt to individual
patterns and cycle changes.
3) Luna AI Assistance - Menstrual health can be a complex world and some
questions might feel too private to ask - the Luna AI is trained to answer
common queries around your menstrual cycle in a private manner. The user
queries data is private and is not used for any training models.
